Gifted Education

Our school has a Gifted Education Group, which is responsible for coordinating and developing gifted education within the school. Based on the multiple intelligences learning concept proposed by Dr. Howard Gardner of Harvard University, we develop a school-based curriculum to cater to the needs of gifted or high-achieving students.
Our school will implement high-quality strategies for gifted education in daily classrooms, incorporating learning activities of varying levels to improve students' subject knowledge and enhance their higher-order thinking, creativity, and personal and social skills.
In addition, our school offers a "Mentorship Program" outside the classroom, a teaching activity designed to nurture gifted or high-achieving students. In the Mentorship Program, students will learn from specialist teachers for extended periods, based on their strengths. Besides acquiring advanced specialist knowledge, students also experience a passion for knowledge from their teachers and develop personal and social skills such as teamwork and problem-solving, ensuring a balanced development of their knowledge and emotional intelligence.
Our gifted education team contacts various universities and organizations (such as the Hong Kong Gifted Education Academy) to provide students with opportunities to showcase their abilities. We also collect information on gifted courses offered outside the school and related students and parents to enhance support for the individual needs of gifted or high-achieving students and their parents.

Purpose:

1. View gifted education as an integral part of quality education, and actively develop gifted education strategies and take care of the basic learning needs of gifted students.
2. Broaden the definition of giftedness by adopting the concept of multiple intelligences, expanding the scope to every student rather than limiting it to students with outstanding academic performance.
3. Cultivate students' multiple intelligences.
4. Some school-based extension and enrichment activities are selected by teachers for student participation.
