Feature Two: A Learning-Oriented School
To immerse students in a positive campus learning atmosphere, cultivate a spirit of proactive learning, help them master learning methods, and encourage them to continuously strive for improvement.
Cultivating students' willingness to learn independently through different means
Introduce different strategies, such as worksheets and data collection, to help students develop the habit of preparing lessons before class.
Integrating reading strategies into the curriculum enables students to master reading skills and build a solid foundation for self-study.
Through book classes, morning assemblies, Chongzhen Radio, Chongzhen TV, and weekly meetings, books are introduced, reading experiences are shared, and reading attitudes are cultivated, thereby sparking students' interest in reading and fostering a positive learning attitude.
Our school has two multimedia rooms, and interactive whiteboards have been installed in special rooms such as the English room, language room, and general knowledge room. The entire school has been rewired with a wireless network, interactive whiteboards are being installed in classrooms, and tablet computer usage programs are being implemented at all levels, integrating information technology into teachers' teaching and students' learning.
Actively develop school-based curriculum and learning strategies, and incorporate higher-order thinking elements into each course to enable students to learn effectively, inspire their critical thinking, innovation and collaboration skills, and cultivate their ability to "think critically and solve problems".
Strengthen the reading culture
The program includes daily morning reading sessions and participation in online reading platforms in both Chinese and English to cultivate students' daily reading habits.
Teaching reading strategies and training students' higher-order thinking skills
Promote diverse reading reward programs to encourage students to read.
We invest resources to collect and purchase good books that cater to students' diverse interests, making the library collection and classroom books richer and more attractive.
A book corner will be set up in the library to collect and organize information on various subjects and special topics, making it convenient for students to read during morning reading and breaks, thereby increasing students' reading opportunities and cultivating their interest in reading.
Promote "progressive assessment" to provide students with immediate feedback in order to improve their learning effectiveness.
By promoting different learning activities, such as English Day, Mandarin Day, Math Day, and STEM Activity Day, students can step out of the classroom and learn and practice what they have learned anytime, anywhere.
Teachers continuously learn and keep up with the times, pursue further education, collaborate with other schools and universities, and regularly conduct joint lesson planning and mutual observation to develop school-based curricula and teaching strategies that meet students' needs, thus maximizing the effectiveness of teaching and learning.
We will establish the Grace Gallery and set up display cases and display boards in classrooms, special rooms, corridors, stairwells and playgrounds. We will also negotiate with external organizations such as the MTR to display students' finished products and award photos, so that students can learn from each other, encourage each other and increase their sense of accomplishment.
