1. The Chinese language curriculum includes a "Basic Worksheet" to solidify kindergarten students' foundation in vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension before they enter Primary One. The curriculum also includes more advanced exercises to meet the learning needs of higher-achieving students.
2. No dictation is required in the first semester of primary school, giving parents space to help their children adapt to primary school life.
3. Our school is committed to promoting a reading culture, encouraging students to read articles of different genres and broadening their reading scope.
4. There is one Chinese reading class every week, in which the Chinese teacher teaches students reading strategies so that they can master reading skills.
5. Our school has compiled a "Vocabulary Treasury" for students, encouraging them to accumulate vocabulary while reading and use it flexibly in writing.
6. In the 2018-2020 and 2021-2022 academic years , our school participated in the Education Bureau's "Mainland and Hong Kong Teacher Exchange and Collaboration Scheme," where experienced Chinese language teachers from the Mainland were stationed at our school to design a "Group Reading" curriculum. Students read a large number of articles on the same theme, analyzed and compared the content of the articles, and summarized the key points.
7. Teachers incorporate elements of gifted education into the classroom, using questions at different levels to enhance students' higher-order thinking skills, enabling them to integrate the content of the text with their language knowledge.
8. Idiom teaching is implemented in grades one through six. Teachers use supplementary teaching materials to teach idioms and supplement them with multimedia audio-visual materials to increase the fun of learning.
9. Students make good use of information technology for learning, and our school stood out from 150 schools to win the "Best School for Online Chinese Learning in Hong Kong Award". Students love reading, and the borrowing rankings are improving year by year.
10. Integrating classic Chinese quotes into composition classes allows students to review them regularly, enhancing their cultural literacy.
