Undergraduate Development Philosophy and Appreciation of Famous Artists
Our school's art curriculum focuses on art appreciation and creation. Our classes are guided by art appreciation, allowing students to learn about the creative context, the artists' journeys, and creative methods through the works of various masters. (In addition to classes, we arrange art museum visits for students in grades four through six every year to broaden their horizons.) This allows students to appreciate masterpieces, savor history, and appreciate life, cultivating rich art appreciation skills.
Community-based courses
Another key aspect of our curriculum is community-based learning, which cultivates students' insight into everyday culture. From appreciating popular culture and art to analyzing traditional Chinese culture, these elements are incorporated into the curriculum, aiming to help students learn to integrate real-life themes into their work and inspire their connection to the community.
Art activities outside the classroom
On-campus activities include: to enhance students' initiative in pursuing art and broaden their aesthetic horizons, the school implements tiered elite training programs, holds on-campus painting competitions, promotes "Inter-class Outstanding Works" elections, and organizes "Visual Arts Week" to exhibit student classroom works, effectively improving the artistic atmosphere on campus. Off-campus activities include: participation in various painting and 3D modeling competitions, sandcastle building competitions, participation in large-scale exhibitions, and off-campus collaborative projects. For example, this year, students participated in the "Standard Chartered Art & Fun Carnival" co-organized by the Youth Art Association and Standard Chartered Bank, and designed related workshops to deepen their understanding of relevant art fields. In addition, to cultivate artistic and humanistic literacy, outstanding student works are exhibited in several "MTR Community Galleries."
